The P. League+ was founded by Blackie Chen in 2020. It is the first fully professional basketball league in Taiwan after the Chinese Basketball Alliance ceased operations in 1999. The first four teams participating in the inaugural season are Formosa Taishin Dreamers, Taipei Fubon Braves, Taoyuan Pilots, and Hsinchu JKO Lioneers.
Each team is allowed to register maximum 16 local players, one foreign student and one player of Chinese descent included, and 3 foreign players.Only two foreign players can be played per game, which only one of both in the fourth quarter.In the inaugural season, each team plays 24 games, 12 each for home and away.
