Uluru ( / ˌuːləˈruː /; Pitjantjatjara: Uluṟu [ˈʊlʊɻʊ] ), also known as Ayers Rock ( / ˈɛərz / AIRS) and officially gazetted as Uluru / Ayers Rock, [1] is a large sandstone monolith.
