じゅうしょうきんむりょくしょう. 重症筋無力症は、神経筋接合部のアセチルコリンレセプターに対する自己抗体が産生される自己免疫疾患です。 全身の筋力低下、眼瞼下垂、複視などが出現し、時に嚥下困難、構音障害等が出現し、重症化すると呼吸不全を呈する (重症筋無力症クリーゼ)こともあります。 通常は内服薬にて経過観察しますが、治療に対する反応が悪い場合や、胸腺腫を合併する場合などは、神経内科の先生方と綿密に連携を取りながら、胸腺を手術で切除する治療 (胸腺摘除術)を選択します。 通常この手術は、前胸部に縦型の傷を付け、胸骨を縦断する胸骨正中切開アプローチが用いられて来ましたが、当科では両側胸腔鏡下で胸腺摘除術を施行しています。
