TOM McPOIL. PHYSICAL THERAPIST SPECIALIZING IN FOOT & ANKLE. Tom McPoil received his certificate in physical therapy from Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and his PhD in kinesiology from the University of Illinois. He currently is a professor in the School of Physical Therapy at Regis University in Denver, CO.
The VASYLI + McPoil tissue stress relief prefabricated foot orthotic is the result of a collaboration between Phillip Vasyli and Prof. Thomas G. McPoil, PhD, PT, ATC. In 1995, together with Gary Hunt, Tom introduced the concept of load deformation curve, which became the basis of a tissue stress model.
