So certainly not a bust but when you’re the #1 pick and you’re not returning at least average value, you’re a dud for sure. Would you consider DeAndre Ayton a bust? It's been 6 years since Ayton was drafted. For me he's tough to evaluate. Sure he's a walking double double but after 6 years all he has to show for it is the All Rookie First Team. No All Stars, no All NBAs, no All Defense, never led the league in any box score statistics.
Yes he is. A disappointment is a bust. No one would want to draft a player like that number 1 overall. This sub has way too hard a time saying anyone is a bust, unless you are like Kwame Brown level. I’ve seen people talking that Markelle Fultz isn’t a bust.

However he has always been overshadowed by others in his draft class (notably Michael Porter Jr., SGA, Luka and Trae). And his 2 teammates in CP3 and Booker are widely lauded as the driving forces of the Suns success this season.

The Suns can potentially duck the second apron in 2024 and the subsequent penalties that would come with it which is a huge benefit to their team building going forward. - Flexibility.
Deandre Ayton has been a complete disappointment so far in these playoffs. I catch Suns games here and there so I could never really get a beat on DA and how he plays, but after watching the Suns/Clippers series so far -- he is infuriatingly underwhelming. Constantly playing below his height when he is far and away the tallest man on the court.
