A Chinese clone will cost somewhere around $500, which sounds expensive. It works. When/If you no longer need it, you can sell it for as much as you paid for it.

I have had a recurrent problem over the last few months: from time to time a red battery symbol with a red message "visit workshop" appears when a switch on the ignition. The message then stays on until I turn off the engine. It may or may not appear the next time.
