使用方法は？ 1. 経口ステロイド療法. 「プレドニゾロン（PSL）」という薬が使われることが多く、初期投与量PSL20～60mg/日程度で開始し、2～4週ごとに5～10mgずつ減量していきます。 PSL20mg以下では、さらにゆっくり減量していきます。 連日内服と隔日（1日おき）内服があり、後者のほうが副作用は少ないといわれています。 2. ステロイドパルス療法. メチル・プレドニゾロン500～1000mgの点滴注射を3日間行います。 服用中に注意することは？ 1. 急に内服を中止しないこと. ステロイドホルモンはPSL換算で2.5～5mg程度が生理的に分泌されていますが、それ以上の量のPSLを長期に内服した場合、副腎皮質からのステロイドホルモンが分泌されなくなります。
