概要. 2018年10月より、衛生学公衆衛生学（一）、衛生学公衆衛生学（二）、医療・病院管理学が統合し、衛生学公衆衛生学講座となりました。 環境・産業医学分野では、環境・産業医学、医療・病院管理学の領域について、教育・研究・社会活動を行っています。 環境中には様々な物理化学的要因が存在し、我々の健康に影響を及ぼしています。 近年、地球温暖化やオゾン層破壊などの地球環境問題に加えて、毒性金属、ダイオキシン類、残留性有機汚染物質、揮発性有機化合物や微小粒子状物質などの日常生活の場でも曝露されうる化学物質による健康影響が問題となっています。 また、産業現場では、金属や有機溶剤などの有害化学物質取り扱い業務や作業環境・条件による健康影響も懸念されています。

重症筋無力症は、神経筋接合部のアセチルコリンレセプターに対する自己抗体が産生される自己免疫疾患です。 全身の筋力低下、眼瞼下垂、複視などが出現し、時に嚥下困難、構音障害等が出現し、重症化すると呼吸不全を呈する (重症筋無力症クリーゼ)こともあります。 通常は内服薬にて経過観察しますが、治療に対する反応が悪い場合や、胸腺腫を合併する場合などは、神経内科の先生方と綿密に連携を取りながら、胸腺を手術で切除する治療 (胸腺摘除術)を選択します。 通常この手術は、前胸部に縦型の傷を付け、胸骨を縦断する胸骨正中切開アプローチが用いられて来ましたが、当科では両側胸腔鏡下で胸腺摘除術を施行しています。 この方法は、左右側胸部に内視鏡用の孔を開け、術中に体位を変換し、内視鏡下に胸腺および胸腺腫を切除します。
