Elías David Díaz Soto (born November 17, 1990) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies .
Rockies were one of two teams in MLB to use just two catchers (Díaz and Dom Nuñez) all season (also: Cincinnati) … only used two catchers the entire season for the second time in franchise history (1997, Kirt Manwaring and Jeff Reed).
