Mazda MPV Transmission Problems. dblchin Member Posts: 12. September 2006. At 48,120 miles, my 2002 Madza MPV automatic transmission needs to be replaced. I am upset that this has happened with such low mileage. I have owned an R-100, RX-3 and 323 with virtually only maintenance costs to pay. This $3900 failure seems unreasonable.

My 2002 MPV's tranny just went at 68,000 miles. Repair estimate is $3,500. Yes that is correct, $3,500. I called Mazda for help. They indicated car was over warranty and they would not help. Had a $500 repair at 60,000 miles and a $500 repair at 55,000 miles ( plugs and coils). I would avoid this vehicle at all costs.
January 2007. My check engine light on my 2000 Mazda MPV with 86,000 miles has been on for about two years (so probably since around 60,000 miles) with no noticeable problems. I recently failed a vehicle emissions test due to the cel being on and showing code PO455- meaning a large fuel vapor leak.
Any advice would be appreciated. PROBLEM #1 - Our 2005 MPV has right sliding passenger door that will not shut automatically by itself. You know the problem, it doesn't sit flush and opens itself up. It's been in the Mazda shop (under warranty) four times and they can't seem to fix it.

Unreliable would mean that it has been out of service for failures or issues that impede operation.
Only about 55k but they were original plugs and wires from '01. Check engine light came on and OBD II code read cylinder four misfire so I decided to go for it.
There was also a recall on that module. I had to have the one in my '03 replaced; check with your dealership to see if your vehicle fell under the recall.
