Mestinon is available in syrup, conventional tablets, and timespan (slow-release) tablets. Dose is adjusted for each patient. For syrup and conventional tablets, the average dose is ten 60 mg tablets or ten 5 mL teaspoonfuls daily. The dose for timespan tablets is one to three 180 mg tablets, once or twice daily.
Mestinon may interact with atropine, belladonna, clidinium, dicyclomine, glycopyrrolate, hyoscyamine, mepenzolate, methantheline, methscopolamine, propantheline, scopolamine, antibiotics, or heart rhythm medications. Tell your doctor all medications you are taking.
