Early life. Koo was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He has an older sister Koo Eun-yeong (구은영, 具恩英). [3] [unreliable source?] His parents divorced when he was eleven years old. He went to Seoul Sinjung Elementary School and Seocho Middle School. Koo attended Kyunggi High School, where he met fellow CLON member Kang Won-rae.
