唐菖蒲伯克氏菌可分成四種病原型：唐菖蒲病原型（pv. gladioli）、洋蔥病原型（pv. alliicola）、洋菇病原型（pv. agaricicola）及椰毒病原型菌（pv. cocovenenans）。其中只有 椰毒病原型菌會在含富含脂防酸的發酵食品中繁殖，產生有毒的米酵菌酸（邦克列酸），而目前國產農作物並無遭此種病原型菌危害之紀錄。
