The current status for the 3rd generation model is “ unsupported ”, so no programmer efforts will be made to make it more compatible. This is 2024 now.
2021年10月2日 · Correct. The solution is to use an email ending with .com. For example, if your email ends with a country code, this is not recognized. This makes sense, as Apple TV 3rd gen is from 2013 and country code top level domains (ccTLD) were created in 2018. And apple does not do software updates.

2024年4月1日 · The replacement for the Apple TV Remote app is the Apple TV Remote widget in Control Center. Thank you. A separate remote is necessary in order to navigate the Apple TV settings and connect the iPhone as a remote. The old Apple TV Remote app was discontinued in 2020 I think, and removed from the App Store. Use the Control Center widget instead.
