2009年1月18日 · Strictly speaking, "4X4" refers to a vehicle with four wheels, all of which are powered. It's the difference between "4WD" and "AWD" that's less clear-cut, but generally, 4WD implies a low range; AWD does not, regardless of whether it's full-time or on-demand AWD as with the RAV4. 4x4abc.com has a good explanation.

But my previous 4WD vehicles all had a manual switch or lever to engage 4WD mode, and I'm a little unclear about how the system works in the RAV4, how the Lock button works, and heck, I'm not even clear on whether it's front-wheel or rear-wheel when in 2WD mode.

2020年9月26日 · The 4WD models came from Toyota with a badge on the right hand side of the rear cargo door indicating as much, opposite the RAV4L emblem. But that doesn't mean it fell off or was removed . . . The driveshaft and rear differential as mentioned above are the only determining criteria you need to know.

2022年3月13日 · I Just bought a 2011 RaV4 4WD with only 94k miles. Drove it 90 miles to home and about half way home the engine, 4WD and traction lights all came on at the same time. I turned it off and back on and they're still on.
