Amazon only wants to allow you to use Amazon's own App Store. If you search around, there are tutorials that claim to be able to work around this, at least partially.
To turn off device default gallery access: On your Android device, open the Google Photos app . Sign in to your Google Account. At the top right, tap your Profile pictureor Initial. Tap Photos settings Apps and devicesGoogle Photos access. Tap the device’s default gallery app name. Select Remove access.
