2019年9月8日 · The card was probably locked after you mis-typed the PIN 3 times, and because this is Japan you need to fill out some paperwork to get a new one issued by mail. I purposely locked my account at an ATM. Went to the post office, filled out some paperwork, got a new card issued within a week.
The 7-11 ATM's use the mastercard/visa exchange rate, you won't get better than this. Much better to withdraw all the cash you might need at the ATM than to exchange at Hanaeda. When you arrive at Hanaeda you can withdraw some cash from one of the Japan Post ATM's with a Mastercard. It's easy to find - just look for the Post office in the airport.

This is charged by the Japanese banks and is in addition to any fees charged by your bank. The exchange costs are carried by your bank so their fees are the ones that count for conversion costs and rates.

2023年4月13日 · I was just in Japan last week. My Chase ATM card worked perfectly in the ATM at 7 Eleven. Fortunately they are pretty common (at least in Osaka and Tokyo. I did not have success at the ATM I tried in a Family Mart. 7 Eleven for the win.
2018年2月21日 · It sounds like you're using a post office ATM, you need to press that button in order to start the withdraw. I don't have a Postal Savings account, but I can use the Post Office ATM to withdraw money, I have to press a button that pretty much means "card issued from another bank" before it'll let me withdraw money.

Wells Fargo card won't work with Japan ATM solution. Hi everyone, hopefully this will save you some tears! SOLUTION: Try using the ATMs at LAWSON convenience stores to withdraw cash! My issue: ATMs at major airports and train stations WOULD NOT accept my Wells Fargo card. Neither would 7 eleven.
2022年4月9日 · If it’s standard JP Post cash card, then it’s just for ATM. There’s no CVV and it cannot be used for payment in stores or on websites (I.e., it’s not a credit or debit card). You need to apply for a credit or debit card at a bank and connect it to your JP Post Bank
