2019年12月3日 · So far I have replaced both vanos drives, timing chain and upgraded tensioner/guides, thermostat, adaptions reset countless times, and had software updated at BMW. STILL shows 2845 fault code. Getting bored of it now. Chain & tensioners done by a mini specialist, who took it apart again to check everything.
2022年3月20日 · first off dont drive it like it it will hurt it, you could swap the solonoid valves inlet to exhaust take for a drive if fault now moves to inlet then you know its that at fault,, if dont then possible o-rings on camshaft end caps,, the new versions of these are made of nylon plastic and can but them from bmw around £6 each would do all 4 if do them, and as its a part you would also do timing ...

2023年10月11日 · I would hate to buy a new head and still have the 2845 codes because it’s the DME that’s the issue. I’m to the point that I think it’s the DME because the problem doesn’t move no matter what I do and the fact that the wires for the Vanos solenoid on the exhaust side were swamped when I started trouble shooting the care.
2023年2月4日 · It may well be the chain, I do agree. We have the same engine in our 2009 version. We can go thru the simple (free stuff) first to rule out some of the possibilities

2024年6月12日 · Mini R56 2007 Cooper NA 1.6 petrol N12 Fault Codes 283d, 2f42, 288d, 2845. I am properley foxed by this one, most of the above are related to the exhaust Vanos. New head gasket, valve stem seals, new complete timing chain kit and guides along with a new genuine exhaust vanos sprocket and a Bosch solenoid valve.
