The F12tdf pays homage to the Tour the France, the legendary endurance road race that Ferrari dominated in the 1950s and 60s. It was a race that rewarded cars that combined maximum performance with the driveability and ease of use that enabled the competitors to race for hundreds of kilometres a day over fast, tortuous roads and on circuits.
2015年10月15日 · F12tdf的外型由Ferrari Styling Centre操刀設計，擁有比F12berlinetta更好的空氣力學，並可在時速200km/h時提供230kg的下壓力。 F12tdf的動力依然源自F12berlinetta上的6.3升V12自然進氣引擎，但經調校後最大馬力從740hp提升至780hp/8,500rpm，最大扭力從70.4kgm攀升至71.9kgm/6,750rpm，且80%的扭力從2,500rpm就開始供應，引擎轉速可一路拉升至8,900rpm的紅線區。 此外，F12tdf搭載的F1 DCT變速箱，齒比更密6%，升檔及降檔速度分別加快30%及40%。
2015年10月14日 · 身為F12 Berlinetta性能強化版的F12tdf，除了更接近於賽車的空氣力學設計之外，也同樣導入了輕量化的設計思維，不但使用更多的碳纖維套件打造車身與空力部件，亦在車室導入更多的碳纖維材質。
2020年12月9日 · 以 F12berlinetta 為開發基礎的 F12tdf，不僅車頭造型迥異於 F12berlinetta，換上了原廠重新設計、更低伸的前保險桿與下擾流，銜接概念取自 F1 賽車的平整化底盤，並拿掉高工作溫度時會打開的「Active Brake Cooling 主動式剎車冷卻裝置」，改為直接進氣的設計，引擎蓋中央的散熱開口也已不復見，只留下側面兩個較小的散熱孔，藉以兼顧引擎的散熱與並提升車頭的下壓力。 以 F12berlinetta (下圖) 為開發基礎的 F12tdf，車頭換上了原廠重新設計、更低伸的前保險桿與下擾流，引擎蓋中央的散熱開口也已不復見，只留下側面兩個較小的散熱孔，藉以兼顧引擎的散熱與並提升車頭的下壓力。
