2024年5月8日 · I've been seeing the word "audiophile" attached to some of Friday Music's current releases and pre-orders, like a blue vinyl "audiophile" version of Chicago II coming for $75, or Todd Rundgren's "Ever Popular Tortured Artist Effect" coming as a 2 LP "audiophile" for $69. What makes these releases "audiophile?"
2016年10月4日 · My Doobie Brothers Takin’ It TTS release (Reagoso alone) sounds incredibly thin with no punch. Will admit I don’t have an original to compare with though. 2013年5月26日 · You could of course buy both and compare. I have Friday Music´s reissue of Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys by Traffic and also an original US sterling press from 1971. I definately prefer the sterling press, though maybe I have to find an original uk 1st. press to get the whole, true picture of how it was meant to sound.
2016年5月1日 · It's too bad that the quality and sound is below par because they certainly licensed some good titles over the years. I still think the Friday Music take on Yes-Close To The Edge may be the worst reissue I've ever purchased. The problem with that is the good reissue labels didn't get them. Classicrock, May 2, 2016.

I have almost all of America's original pressings (Canadian WEA), and the first 2 (America & Homecoming) on the Friday Music label. They are well done, but not superior to the original pressings. If you can't locate decent originals then the Friday Music reissues ...
2012年4月24日 · Friday Music is a total crapshoot: Some very good titles, some total dogs. Not really the way to run what is supposed to be an audiophile label. If Joe Reagoso would check his ego at the door and leave all the mastering to experts, things would be a lot better.
2016年1月7日 · It is good. Eric Johnson’s Ah Via Musicom has been released 3 times by Friday Music. The first reissue was mastered by Ron McMaster (RM in dead wax and wasn’t that highly regarded). The two releases of this record were mastered for vinyl by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio (KG@CA in deadwax) and are excellent.
