Steps in order. Make a shortcut for GTAV if you have not already. Right click the shortcut. Select properties. In the "target" box, add -scOfflineOnly to the end. It should look like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\PlayGTAV.exe" -scOfflineOnly. Fucking youtubers and their intros, I swear.

Hey there, I was trying to play some GTA V today, and saw it needed an update (im on steam btw), so I updated. but when I tried to open the game a little alert popped up saying "rockstar launcher failed to initialize". I pressed ok, and the next alert said "gta v could not open, try reinstalling".

Then go to the folder where the GTA V Rockstar launcher version is installed and click GTAVLauncher. It will then launch the Rockstar Launcher and after logging in it'll launch the game immediately.. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.
2023年1月10日 · If getting your achievements and hours counted on Steam isn't important to you, I'd say go with the Rockstar launcher. I just purchased from steam during this holiday sale. Meanwhile R* Launcher hardly showed any discount, steam offered 60% off. Get physical discs.
I tried reinstalling CrossOver on my Mac but Rockstar Launcher cannot even launch this time around. So I'm just stuck here. I have already approached Rockstar's customer service.

Windows Security - Virus & threat protection settings - Manage controlled folder access - Allow an app through controlled folder access. Allow these three. 2022年3月26日 · Go to desktop mode. Download the launcher. Add the executable to steam as a non-steam game. Run and install. Then install GTA from the launcher. Add GTA as a non-steam game. You can remove the launcher now if you like. Boot back into SteamOS. Change properties on GTA to run on proton experimental.
2024年2月11日 · Ever since the update i have to start gta through the rockstar launcher itself. I have the steam version so idk if that makes a difference. But as of right now gta 5 (and other R* games) is on sale. So as off last week I couldn't play the game with no problems. But rockstar said in the launcher that support will stop for windows 6,7 and 8.
