三次元組織構築技術. 血管網付与による三次元組織・臓器の構築. 本研究所では細胞シート工学を用いた立体組織や臓器の再生を追及しています。 これまでに、酸素・栄養の透過性や老廃物の除去に起因する作成組織の厚みの限界を克服するためにin vivoで細胞シートの段階的移植法を考案し三次元組織の再生に成功させました。 また、さらなる目標であるin vivoでの血管付き三次元心筋組織の再生を目的として、血管床と組織灌流バイオリアクターによる血管網付与システムの開発を進めています。 さらに、次世代の心筋再生医療を目指して心臓を補助するポンプとなり得る管状心筋組織の構築も試みています。 今後は、より生体内環境を模倣したバイオリアクターを開発し収縮力が増強された厚い管状心筋組織の構築を目指します。
