There are many residential care homes in England that are registered (with the Care Quality Commiission CQC) as being suitable to receive people with dementia. In other words, they are registered and allowed to accept people with dementia.

EMI nursing homes specialize in caring for elderly people who suffer from mental illness, such as Alzhemier’s Disease. I am fairly sure that a home with a dementia unit should be able to help. However it is best to visit them, assess and question them.

2017年5月26日 · So - some EMI Nursing homes can and do 'put up with' quite a lot. The SW is just trying to save money - we all know funds are scarce, but that is NOT your mUm's problem. She is entitled to and deserves the level of care that her condition requires, and 117 funding should cover this without the need for top ups.
2012年6月10日 · Jun 10, 2012. #2. Hi dwnie, I think there is plain residential, then residential EMI, then nursing. So the home may well be residential in that the residents don't need nursing care, but EMI in that they are mentally infirm, so that type of home will be used to dealing with dementia.

2015年5月21日 · We know it stands for Elderly Mentally Infirm, and I know it's generally thought to be a bit of an out-of-date term, but it's still being used by my mam's social worker, and by our local care homes. Dad would like to see some sort of definitive explanation of how EMI nursing differs from other types of nursing, if possible.
