  2. History. The Olympic Council of Malaysia was initially registered as the Federation of Malaya Olympic Council (FMOC) on 13th November 1953, under the Societies Act as a volunteer-based, non-profit and non-government organization. The FMOC held its first meeting on 24th April 1954, attended by 3 representatives from Hockey and 4 from Athletics.

  3. On 5 May 1964, the Singapore Olympic and Sports Council, the Sarawak Sports Olympic Committee and the Sabah Olympic Committee and the FMOC was merged to form the Olympic Council of Malaysia. On 9 August 1965, Singapore ceased to be part of Malaysia and re-established its own National Olympic Committee.

  6. Description. In 1963, Malaya, North Borneo (Sabah), Sarawak and Singapore joined to form the Federation of Malaysia. On 5 May 1964 the NOCs of Malaya, Singapore, Sabah (formerly North Borneo), and Sarawak formed the Olympic Council of Malaysia.

  7. Since then, the Olympic Council of Malaysia, as it is known since 1964, has been participating in all the Olympic Games, except the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. Our athletes have won a total of eleven (11) Olympic medals, with badminton being the biggest contributor (8), followed by diving (2) and cycling (1).

  8. Pada 16 September 1963, Singapura dan jajahan mahkota British di Borneo Utara dan Sarawak bergabung dengan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu untuk membentuk Malaysia. Pada 5 Mei 1964, Majlis Olimpik dan Sukan Singapura, Jawatankuasa Sukan Olimpik Sarawak dan Jawatankuasa Olimpik Sabah dan FMOC digabungkan untuk membentuk Majlis Olimpik Malaysia.
