35歲時成為行政院有史以來最年輕的政務委員，也是台灣史上首位跨性別的閣員、首位數位政委。 除了以跨性別女性認同知名以外，唐鳳還因多種傑出事蹟、任職身分而廣為人知，不但在16歲就成為網際網路創業家、曾成為商業雜誌的封面人物、多次在軟體及網路領域進行開發與創立公司、擔任蘋果公司等的顧問，亦投入發展開放原始碼的社群、與友人共同創辦「使用者社群藝術家獨立協會」、偕同駭客們組成以開放政府為目標的公民科技社群「g0v零時政府」，後續也持續藉由擔任中華民國國家發展委員會開放資料諮詢委員會委員、行政院「虛擬世界法規調適計劃」顧問、與政務委員蔡玉玲一起推動虛擬世界法規調適交流平臺vTaiwan的開發，長期推動開放政府，並透過vTaiwan跟法國、西班牙在數位治理領域合作。
2022年8月27日 · 唐鳳，曾任行政院政務委員，帶領 行政院公共數位創新空間小組（PDIS） ，透過「開放政府」、「社會創新」等業務，協助政府提升服務品質，改善行政流程、提升討論及決策品質與透明度。 現兼任行政院資訊長，持續帶領 PDIS，運用公共程式（Public Code）開發共通系統，精進政府機關系統架構，強化數位韌性。 過去，唐鳳曾擔任過行政院虛擬世界法規調適計劃顧問、國家發展委員會開放資料諮詢委員，以及十二年國民基本教育課程發展委員會委員。 另外，唐鳳也是「g0v 零時政府」網路社群的專案貢獻者，並積極參與線上法規討論平台 vTaiwan 的相關活動，希望透過多元溝通管道的建立，協助產出符合多方利益關係人期待、也更貼近實際需求的法規內容。
