Casting
In March 2023, Daisy Edgar-Jones joined the cast in the lead role. Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos were cast the following month. In May 2023, Brandon Perea, Daryl McCormack, Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Kiernan Shipka, and David Corenswetwere among those announced as new additions to the cast.
Filming
On an estimated budget of $200 million, principal photography commenced around Oklahoma City in May 2023. Filming was to take place at Prairie Surf Studios for 40 days and in metro Oklahoma City for 50 days. Other locations included Chickasha, Okarche, El Reno, Spencer, and Cashion. Filming was suspended in July due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike.Production resumed with the conclusion of the strike in November 2023, wrapping the following month.
