In August 2023, TSMC committed €3.5 billion to a €10+ billion factory in Dresden, Germany. The plant is subsidised with €5 billion from the German government. Three European companies, Robert Bosch GmbH, Infineon Technologies and NXP Semiconductors, invested in the plant in return for a 10% share each.
