With their natural selection at #9, the Wizards drafted the Israeli forward Deni Avdija. It was the first time in NBA history an Israeli had been drafted in the Top 10. With the second-round pick they acquired from the Chicago Bulls in a trade last year, the Wizards.
Their Israeli-born son, Deni Avdija (born 2001), is also a professional basketball player. Deni has been drafted as the 9th overall pick by the Washington Wizards in the 2020 NBA draft. Their son Deni also represents the Israel national team internationally.
