2024年1月9日 · Skylar Mays本來是在拓荒者拿底薪1.86M，其中0.85M保障。 在上週被裁掉，本季只能拿0.85M， 阿拓省下1.01M薪資並清出一個格子 。 要注意的是，部份保障的0.85M並不是從薪資表下架， 而是 變成「Dead money」，本季會掛在拓荒者的團隊薪資上 。 如果是 繳稅球隊，會發生「Dead money也要計入豪華稅計算」的狀況 ， 但拓荒者低於稅線很多，本季應該是不會繳稅，就只是付這0.85M就好。 所以，比較 不會看到勇士、公鹿、塞爾蒂克這些爆稅球隊做出這種「裁人」的事 。 因為他們這樣裁下去，仍然要付三倍四倍甚至七倍的稅金，非常不划算。 說到勇士，季前交易給巫師的Ryan Rollins (2022年二輪選秀)也是部份保障，被裁了。
